10.09.2026. - 12.09.2026. The 3rd International Conference on Mathematical Modelling in Mechanics and Engineering (ICME 2026)
PROMINENT Team Contributions at ICME 2026 in Belgrade
The PROMINENT project team contributed to the 3rd International Conference on Mathematical Modelling in Mechanics and Engineering (ICME 2026), held from September 10 to 12, 2026, in Belgrade, Serbia. The conference brought together researchers working in mathematical modelling, computational mechanics and related engineering disciplines, with sessions hosted at the Mathematical Institute of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Two research papers authored by PROMINENT team members were presented during the general sessions on September 10:
“Thermo-Mechanical Phase-Field Damage Modeling in Shape Memory Alloys”, authored by Vladimir Dunić and Miroslav Živković.
“Convergence of a Central Difference Approximation to the One-Dimensional Wave Equation in Explicit Dynamics”, authored by Miloš Pešić, Vladimir Dunić, Vladimir Milovanović and Miroslav Živković.
Vladimir Dunić also co-chaired a general session together with Marina Shitikova, contributing to the scientific discussion and coordination of the session.
PROMINENT team members Miroslav Živković and Snežana Vulović further supported the conference as members of its International Scientific Committee.
The contributions addressed phase-field damage modelling in advanced materials and the convergence of numerical methods for dynamic analysis. These topics support PROMINENT’s research objectives and the development of computational tools for predicting damage evolution in engineering structures. Participation in ICME 2026 provided an opportunity to disseminate this research within the international mechanics and engineering community.
The PROMINENT project is supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Grant No. 7475.
Further information is available on the ICME 2026 website.
