14.10.2024. – 18.10.2024. Team members visiting Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona
The PROMINENT team members, coordinator prof. Miroslav Zivkovic, and work package leaders prof. Vladimir Dunic and prof. Vladimir Milovanovic visited Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain in period 14.10.2024. – 18.10.2024. in framework of the project activities. They had several meetings with the UPC researchers, prof. Albert de la Fuente Antequera and prof. Nikola Tosic as well as the prof. Xavier Martinez Garcia from Centre Internacional de Mètodes Numèrics a l’Enginyeria (CIMNE). Both teams presented their teams, and the ongoing project activities and plans. The visit of Structures and Materials Technology Laboratory (LATEM) was organized by prof. Nikola Tosic, where he presented the equipment and experimental setup in the laboratory available for concrete structure experiments for PROMINENT team during the project realization. Also, several experimental investigation tests were realized by UPC PhD student Petar Bajic together with the PROMINENT team members, such as: standard compression test, elastic modulus identification test, and Splitting Tensile Strength Test (Brazilian). Prof. Vladimir Dunic delivered invited lecture to the UPC researchers under the title “Phase-field damage modeling in engineering materials” to present the latest achievements in the development of PAK-DAM software. This visit will be of great importance for the future work of the PROMINENT team members in the field of the experimental testing of concrete structures, as well as for the future cooperation with the UPC researchers.
