22.09.2026. - 25.09.2026. The 42nd Danubia–Adria Symposium on Advances in Experimental Mechanics (DAS 2026)

PROMINENT Team Members Participate in DAS 2026 in Split

PROMINENT project team members Vladimir Dunić and Vladimir Milovanović participated in the 42nd Danubia–Adria Symposium on Advances in Experimental Mechanics (DAS 2026), held from September 22 to 25, 2026, in Split, Croatia. The symposium was hosted by the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture (FESB), University of Split.

Vladimir Dunić delivered a keynote lecture entitled “Finite Element Mesh and Step Size Sensitivity in Phase-Field Damage Modeling”, co-authored with Vladimir P. Milovanović and Miroslav Živković.

Vladimir Milovanović participated as a member of the Management Board and presented two papers during the poster sessions:

  • “Degradation of Elastic Modulus in Concrete During Cyclic Compression Testing”, co-authored with Vladimir Dunić, Miloš Pešić, Gordana Jovičić and Miroslav Živković.

  • “Application of Optical 3D Scanning in the Evaluation of Ductility Parameters Obtained from Tensile Tests”, co-authored with Miroslav Živković, Aleksandar Bodić and Miloš Pešić.

He also co-chaired the second poster session.

Alongside the scientific programme, both researchers held several meetings with other symposium participants, providing opportunities to exchange research experience and discuss potential future collaboration.

Participation in DAS 2026 supported the dissemination of research relevant to PROMINENT, connecting experimental material characterisation with numerical approaches to predicting damage evolution in engineering structures. The PROMINENT project is supported by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia, Grant No. 7475.
